Jewel of the Dragon boasts an incredible design once you load it with the Dragon in his cave positioned above the reels for a different style than usual, but unfortunately Bally lacked any imagination when designing the symbols for the reels – they simply suck.
The Wild, which seemingly features on the reels each and every spin due to the Hot Zones feature, is simply represented with the word Wild in a fantasy styled text, and this can substitute for all but the Bonus symbol – represented by the big green Dragon himself.
There is also a crown (identical to the one used in the Crown Gems slot machine logo), a Money Shield with a $ icon, a bell, plus boring playing card symbols of Ace to 9.
Tetris Styled Hot Zones

Jewel of the Dragon has a fabulous setting deep in the Dragon’s cave but I was bitterly disappointed by the symbols used – they simply don’t fit the theme and more appropriate ones would greatly have added to the gameplay.
